Upload your file

You can upload your page from home using Internet Explorer.

Find or remember your user ID and password for voyager. If you do not remember it, go back to the process for setting up your voyager account.

Open the directory where your file is located on your computer. This is the directory named public_html on your computer. You will need this in a minute.

Open Internet Explorer.

In the Internet Explorer address bar, type:   ftp://voyager.deanza.edu     and press Enter.

Ignore all the junk.
Select the menu item: - page - Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer.

There will be a pop-up window where you will enter your voyager user ID and password.

Your home directory on voyager will be shown in windows folder format.
Double click the public_html folder.
Your public_html directory on voyager will be shown.

Arrange your windows so you can see the window containing your page and the public_html directory on voyager.
Click and drag your page file from your directory to the public_html directory on voyager.
You should now see a copy of your file in the public_html directory on voyager.

Look at your new page on voyager.
Open Firefox.
Remember your voyager ID.
In the location bar in Firefox type:   voyager.deanza.edu/~your_voyager_ID/lab0.html
where you replace ~your_voyager_ID with the tilde ( ~ character ) and your voyager user ID.

If you have an index page, to look at the index, in the location bar in Firefox just type:   voyager.deanza.edu/~your_voyager_ID
where you replace ~your_voyager_ID with the tilde ( ~ character ) and your voyager user ID.

To quit the ftp activity, close the two windows and close Internet Explorer.

Sometimes the ftp process quits working, and you must start over
