Course Title:

CAOS 114A, Section 0393
Web Graphics/Animation Software (Flash)

Also listed as Arts 114A, Section 0179 (Enroll in one only for credit)

Description:

Basic and intermediate principles of graphics/animation for the Web. Web graphics/animation terminology and software. This course is for the content person to build a Web site.

Prerequisites:

Computer Applications and Office Systems 112 A-H, or Computer Applications and Office Systems
112 I-P, and 112 Q-Z or equivalent

Advisory:

English Writing 100A and Reading 201, or Language Arts 200, or English as a Second Language 161-163.

Students may receive credit for either Computer Applications and Office Systems/Arts 114 A-H; or 114 I-P and 114 Q-Z.)

Pass/No Pass:

For three (3) units of credit, students must attend all classes and submit all assignments.

Lecture/Lab:

Students remain in classroom to complete projects.

OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:

  • Understand basic & intermediate principles of Flash 5

  • Create graphics, animation and special effects for Web pages

  • Create professional quality multimedia presentations

  • Publish and understand various Flash file outputs

ATTENDANCE:

Class meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8:30 a.m. until
10:10 a.m. in Room 205 in the ATC Building. Class begins Monday, April 8 and ends Monday, June 24.

Attendance is very important and will be taken every class session, including lab on Friday. You are expected to attend all classes. If you miss more than 3 consecutive classes, you may be dropped from the class. If you cannot attend, you are still responsible for the material that was covered in class.

Contact the instructor via e-mail if any problems develop regarding your ability to attend for the full course session.

GRADING:

This class may be taken for pass/no pass only.
