Communications

If you have not set up to communicate with the instructor and the class list server, follow the link at the left, and do that now.

Administrative startup

Administrative tasks -- boring. Lets get these done, so we can go on to something interesting. Click the link on the left to go to the administrative start up page.

Lab1 - Build an XML file

Enough administrative stuff. Let's build an XML file. We will build a very simple XML file.

Put your web page on the Internet

You have built your page; now follow the link to learn how to put it on the Internet, so everyone can see it.

Complete lab1

You have done all the work for Lab1.
Now, send an e-mail to instructor with subject: CIS92A XML Lab1.
In the note provide the following information:

  • SUBJECT: CIS 92A XML Lab1.
  • Your account id on voyager.
  • That you have complete Lab1.
  • A grade posting code word. It should be an English word of 7 characters or less. It is optional, but if you do not provide one, your grades are not shown.
  • Lab 2 will be a small project. Every student must select a different activity to record information about. You might pick a hobby, such as stamp collecting. You might pick a simple business activity, such as office supplies ordering.

If you are a Hotmail or Yahoo user, make sure the instructor's e-mail address is in your Safe List, in order to receive the reply. ( See Hotmail or Yahoo options for more information. )
