  • The stand-alone form is the most commonly used version of the Remote Desktop client.
  • Windows 7 includes a new version designed specifically for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • The following improvements of this new version:
    • Support for Network Access Protection client updates
    • Bidirectional audio
    • Remote application task scheduler can automatically start remote applications
    • Ability to support up to 16 multiple monitors
    • Support for Aero glass
    • Ability to redirect Window Media Player to the client computer for decoding and improved quality
